2018 has been a busy year for our Development and QA teams with over thirty new features developed, rigorously tested and released during the year, as well as a brand-new module for employee onboarding and task management.
We’re ending the year with some more smart features suggested by our clients. For example, there’s now the option to set up multiple reminders for performance reviews, and to use timesheet data to automatically calculate entitlement to paid time off for casual and irregular workers.
Other enhancements include a new time-saving option for completing timesheets, weekly reminders and the option to prevent employees entering hours worked on a day where they’ve already booked time off.
The mobile app has been updated to allow Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) to be booked and approved via Android phones, and we’re just waiting for the iOS version to go through Apple’s approval process. We’re anticipating that it should be available in the next few weeks.Smart new features to keep performance reviews running smoothly and address tricky time off calculations
Flexible reminder options for Performance reviews
When it comes to completing performance reviews, it seems that some folk require an extra nudge – or two! Employees or their reviewers may have seen the email notification, noticed the outstanding task in their inbox, but still not quite got around to completing their part of the process.
With this release, HR professionals now have the option to set up multiple reminders that trigger e-mails to the relevant participant (reviewer or reviewee) when the due date for their part of the process is approaching – or missed.
Different reminders can be triggered for different performance processes, which means that global requirements, and languages, can be accommodated too.
Automatic calculation of paid time off for casual and occasional workers
Calculating entitlement for casual or occasional is rarely straight forward. Even the UK government recognizes this, and provide an online calculator designed to make the task a little easier.
With Cezanne HR, we’ve gone one step further. Rather than you having to manually enter the hours worked or make the necessary calculations, the system automatically takes the approved hours from timesheets in the Time module and updates the entitlement to paid time off in the Absence module using the correct entitlement calculations.
If a change is made to the timesheet after approval, you’ll be warned and given the option to re-sync the data to get the right figure immediately or have the system do it for you as part of an overnight update process.
For anyone struggling to keep tabs on how much paid time off casual workers are entitled to, this could be the solution for you.
Speedier timesheet completion
A real time-saver for staff that work on the same activities for weeks or months at a time is the new option to copy the timesheet contents from one of the previous four weeks, complete with time worked, activities and comments. Once copied, the employee can update any of the finer details and submit the new timesheet for approval.
For clients making use of the Absence and Timesheet module, timesheet approvals will be even more straightforward as to avoid confusing, HR can now block employees from registering time worked on a day they’ve already booked out as holiday.
Time Off in Lieu as a mobile app
Thanks to Cezanne HR’s responsive HTML 5 interface, employees can already request overtime and book TOIL using a tablet or mobile. However, we know that some people prefer the simplicity of a mobile app, so we’ve extended the mobile app. The updated Android version is already available in the Google play store, and should be live in the Apple store soon.
