Please note: The information on this page relates to Cezanne HR’s modules for People, Absence, Time and Performance. It does not cover third-party modules marketed by Cezanne HR that may have a different hosting and security architecture.

Can I use Cezanne HR from my tablet?

Yes, Cezanne HR is designed to work across all modern browsers, which you can use it from your tablet or phablet just as easily as from your PC or laptop. Cezanne HR uses something called responsive design, which means it automatically adjusts the layout of the screen so that information is displayed in a way that makes the most of the available space.

Does Cezanne’s HR software work on Apple Macs?

Yes. You can use Cezanne HR on your Mac, and you aren’t just restricted to Apple’s Safari browser either. Cezanne HR will work just as well on your Mac using Firefox or Google Chrome.

What about running Cezanne’s HR software on Linux?

Since Linux runs standard browsers, you’ll be able to use Cezanne HR on your Linux platform using any of the browsers we support.

Are any plugins needed?

No. You won’t need to download any additional software – like Flash or Silverlight – to use Cezanne HR. The system uses the latest version of HTML (HTML5) to ensure that screens are displayed on your device in the best possible way.

What about mobile?

You can use Cezanne HR from your phone using any of the supported browsers, but you’ll get a better experience if you download our free mobile-native app for Android and Apple phones.

Which browsers do you recommend?

Cezanne HR is designed to run on the latest version of the following browsers:

How often do you update the Cezanne HR system with new features?

We typically make two major releases each year, plus minor releases almost monthly. That means that over the course of your subscription period, you’ll be getting more for your money!

How are updates managed?

We e-mail your named administrator(s) several weeks before the update is due to let them know what new features we are planning to add and when we’ll be applying the updates. Updates are normally managed at weekends during our standard maintenance window.

We also provide online guides that explain how to make the most of the new features that we add, and we may run a live webinar too, especially if there are features you’ll need to configure in order to take advantage of new features.

Do you charge for additional functionality?

New features for the Cezanne HR modules that you’ve already subscribed to are provided for free. New modules may have an additional fee. We won’t sign you up for new modules unless you ask us to.

Do you charge for data storage?

There is no additional charge for data backups or storage, so you can store documents in the HR system without having to worry about extra costs. We do have an acceptable usage policy to make sure that the Cezanne HR service is used appropriately.

How do you keep your subscription and set up fees so low?

The short answer is that is it because we have invested many man-years in making sure that our technology platform and the services we offer are as cost-effective and efficient as possible. We’re therefore able to make savings in development, management, and infrastructure that we pass on to you.

How do I know my HR data is safe?

Our reputation rests on keeping your data safe, and we take this obligation very seriously. Cezanne HR has been built from the ground up on a robust, proven technology platform following enterprise-class security standards and processes. Key features include:

  • Multi-tiered architecture, which prevents direct access to the data layer from the presentation layer.
  • User authentication and advanced password protection, to ensure that only those with the correct login information can access the system.
  • Internal system security, including measures such as network address translation, non-routable IP addressing schemes and other features that further protect against unauthorized access.
  • SSL security, which means that all information sent to and from the server is encrypted using SSL Certification from Network Solutions.

In addition, we’ve chosen to host our Cezanne HR service with AWS (Amazon Web Services) from their sites in Ireland. Amazon is the world’s leading hosting company and has many years of experience in designing, constructing, and operating large-scale data centres, and puts security at the heart of the services that it delivers. Where is my HR system and data hosted?

Cezanne HR and your data are hosted within the area covered by the European Data Protection legislation, at AWS’s state-of-the-art facility in Ireland. In addition, our contract with AWS states that they will not move any content from the European region without first notifying us. If this happens we will, of course, both notify you and take steps to ensure your content remains within the EU. For further information about AWS compliance visit.

How does the October 2015 Safe Harbor ruling affect me?

On October 6th 2015, the European Court of Justice determined that the 15-year-old US-EU Safe Harbor framework is no longer valid for the transfer of personal data from the European Economic Area (EEA) to the US. While your data is hosted by us within the EU (see above), there are implications for you, as the data controller, if you provide access to personal data to employees or other people not located within the EU. How fast can I be up and running?

We typically ask you to allow us two working days from receiving your signed order form and payment details to providing you with a log in to your live system. At that point you can start to enter or upload your own data. If you’ve asked us to help you with system set-up or data upload, you’ll normally still have access to the system from the start of your subscription period. We’ve had customers that have been up and running with their system – and providing full employee self service access – in just a week. Others have chosen to roll it out in stages, over several months. It’s your choice.

Is training mandatory?

You’ll find that you get a much faster return on your investment, for a lot less effort, if you book on to one of our training courses. Training is usually delivered  online, in a series of short focused sessions. If you want to arrange face-to-face training or a workshop, we can run training at our offices, or arrange to visit you.

Do you provide other support with set up?

Yes. As part of your subscription fee, one of our consultants will call you to talk through how to set up the system to fit your specific business needs. We’ll also upload your core HR data at no extra charge. All you need to do is cut and paste your data into the Excel template that we’ll send you. Customers also benefit from an extensive knowledge-base of expert articles and videos that you can access at any time.

When is your support desk open?

Our support desk is open during standard UK office hours. Any questions or queries that you log via the support portal or by e-mailing our support e-mail address are automatically logged in to our support system and routed to one of our support consultants who will get in touch with you.

Can I add my own logo to the system?

Yes. Once you are logged onto the system you can change the logo in the top left-hand corner to be your own. You also have the option to select a light or dark colour theme, depending on which you prefer.

Can I import my existing data into the system?

Yes. There are a number of different options for uploading data into the system – including standard tools in the system, as well as a data upload service if you’d like some assistance. Contact us to find out more.

Can I export my data so I can use it for payroll?

Yes. There is a standard report in the system that lets you export information that can be used for payroll. You can also upload your electronic pay slips to the system so that employees can access them directly from their self-service screens.

Do you have an API?

Yes. The Cezanne HR API (Application Programming Interface) has been created to allow integration with other product and services, along with enabling clients and third parties to integrate data with their own internal applications.

What about Single Sign On?

Thanks to our support for SAML 2.0, your IT team can configure Cezanne HR to allow you to use the same login for your Cezanne HR system as you do for other business solutions, such as Active Directory and Salesforce, that support the SAML 2.0 protocol.

What happens if I cancel?

At the end of your notice period, we’ll close your system down and cancel any direct debit or other payment instructions once the final payment has been taken. There is no additional cancellation fee to pay.

Do I get my data back if I cancel?

Yes. You just need to let us know that you want us to export it for you, and we will arrange to store your data and any documents you have uploaded to the system on a secure FTP site and provide you with access so that you can download the data. Data is provided as flat files. If you need to access your personnel records before then, you can export them to Excel using the standard search capabilities. Once we’ve shut down your system, we’ll also clear your data from our servers.

What do I need to do to sign up?

Simply contact one of our sales consultants and they will put together an order form for you. They can also talk to you about your getting started requirements, and put the necessary arrangements in place to get you up and running as quickly and smoothly as possible.
