The win was announced along with seventeen other categories at the awards night at the London Hilton Hotel. Cezanne HR was proud to be there as sponsor of the HR SME Initiative of the Year, along with several of our customers with whom we shared a wonderful evening of recognition and celebration.

Fittleworth Medical, a home delivery company for stoma, continence and wound care products, was summed up by the judges as the “most innovative in the category”. They were further praised for their coherent approach to the “Fittleworth Way”, which celebrates the great things that their staff do every day. Peter Waller, HR Director at Fittleworth said of the award, “we are really proud of this achievement as it recognises the way our staff approach their work and it’s this approach that makes Fittleworth such a special company”.

Further recognition was given to their HR outreach element, which developed from asking their staff to document when they felt pride in their work, or had gone the extra mile and shown compassion for their customers. These stories have been used used to create a “Fittleworth Way” book that was given to all employees and firmly embedded in their training and induction process.

The awards are a time and place to recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in people management and development and the impact good practice in this field has on business success. Fittleworth Medical proved just that last night.

The judging panel, consisting of industry experts and senior professionals from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, focused on how particular business issues were tackled through people management initiatives and how business performance was thus enhanced.

Cezanne HR’s very own Head of Customer Support and People Management Awards 2013 judge, Silvia Persico, said: “it has been my first experience as a judge and I was not at all sure what to expect. It turned out to be very interesting and a remarkable learning experience as well: during one day we (the judges) were transported into six different companies and they came alive for us, the pain points they were experiencing and how they had gotten around to solve them, through an innovative HR initiative. Also my two fellow judges were a pleasure to work with, they were that rare blend of easygoing personality combined with strong professional comprehension and experience”.
