2023 was another exciting year for us here at Cezanne HR.
With the business riding the crest of a wave at the end of 2022, expectations of another successful year were high. Plus, there were also several new product enhancements and modules planned for launch over the course of the year… not to mention a whole host of insightful industry reports to look forward to!
So, how was 2023 for Cezanne HR, and what were our big news stories of the year? Let’s take a look in our review of 2023…
All kicking off in January
2023 began with a bang with our annual Kick Off Meeting, which this year was hosted in the wonderful city of Manchester and gave us the chance to celebrate our 10th anniversary.
There were also announcements about forthcoming system releases that added an extra spark to our gathering… not to mention ample time to socialise and enjoy the bright lights of the UK’s second-largest city! You can read more about the event and the key takeaways here.
Managing sicknesses in February
February saw us release a brand new research piece in conjunction with Personnel Today. In it, we investigated what HR teams are doing to successfully manage sicknesses in hybrid working environments… and there were some surprising results, including:
- Only 30% of organisations had updated their absence policies to reflect new ways of working
- 55% of line managers are not enforcing company absence procedures
- Only 42% of HR professionals say they have KPIs or other business metrics they use to actively track absences
- 87% of HR professionals believe employees take ‘sickies’
Along with in-depth survey results from over 250 HR professionals, there were also actionable insights and advice on how to manage sicknesses more effectively – especially with hybrid and remote-working employees. To read the full report, just follow this link.
Marching on with NorthEdge
March’s big news was the completion of a primary MBO into Cezanne HR by respected private equity firm NorthEdge. Their backing came off the back of an increased global demand for HR software solutions – something which Cezanne HR’s global HR suite and payroll services are perfectly placed to provide.
“NorthEdge’s support will give us more strength, financially and otherwise, to accelerate our growth in this space and become the leading provider of comprehensive but easy-to-manage cloud-based HR and payroll solutions to the UK market.”
– Alberto Gabbai, CEO of Cezanne HR
Along with this new backing, the Cezanne HR development team also released their first update of the year. It included a new document viewer, more configuration options for Kudos and easier data checking. You can learn more about March’s system release here.
Springing into April
The start of Spring saw our hard-working development team unleash the next system release of the year. The April had a focus on security, and included:
- The ability to use Employee Groups with public and private Workspaces
- The ability to view a password-protected PDF file from within the Cezanne HR system.
You can get a full run-down of the April release here.
Made up in May!
May brought excitement with the news Cezanne HR had been nominated for a prestigious TIARA Talent Tech Star Award. The TIARA Talent Tech Star Awards highlight top-tier innovations in HR and Recruitment technology, honouring excellence among employers, recruiters, candidates, and contractors.
We found ourselves nominated in the hugely competitive Marriott Harrison Talent Tech Customer Service Award category. The award recognised excellence in client service and best value in the delivery of a solution to employers or recruitment companies to improve talent acquisition, management or development. You can read more about the event here.
Away from awards, the Dev team here at Cezanne HR launched the next system release of 2023. This one focused on enhancements for the user experience, and made day-to-day duties for people practitioners more efficient. You can get the full lowdown on what was included here.
May also saw a team attend the popular HR Technologies show at the ExCel Arena in London. You can read more about the event here.
June satisfaction
June saw things hotting up, with a new system release, new research, the results of the TIARA Awards and an industry event!
First up was the brilliant Festival of Work, which took place at London’s Olympia. The day saw our HR software product experts showcasing the brilliance of the Cezanne HR system while immersing themselves in the vibrant atmosphere. You can read more about what went on during the day here.
The Festival of Work wasn’t the only event that saw a team from Cezanne HR attend! The results of the TIARA Awards were announced during a glittering awards ceremony in London. Whilst we didn’t win the award, everyone was immensely proud just to have been nominated, and had a great night out to boot.
June also saw the release of our next industry report. It delved deep into the topic of employee satisfaction and investigated the root causes behind negative workforce trends. You can read more about it and download your own copy here.
The end of the month saw our talented Dev team release their next round of system updates and enhancements. Along with a series of quality of life updates, we also announced the launch of a brand new module: Compensation Planning. Follow this link to learn more about the module.
Feeling the heat in July, August and September
As the country sweltered under the summer sun, we launched our brand new Compensation Planning module exclusively to customers of Cezanne HR along with a raft of new system enhancements – you can read more about them here. September also saw us come together as a company in the glorious surroundings of Glasgow for our Summer retreat, and what a fantastic couple of days it was!
Hosted at the historic Clayton Hotel, the Summer Retreat brought both our London and Glasgow offices together to network, discuss yearly progress and – perhaps most importantly – have some fun together. Although the less said about the karaoke efforts, the better….
Into the winter…
The year may have been coming to a close, but we were finishing the year with a flourish!
October saw us launch a brand new e-book: How to build a compelling business case for HR software. This comprehensive step-by-step guide – written specially for HR professionals – is a roadmap to crafting a persuasive business case.
It’ll help you get the green light for your HR software initiative, and act as a catalyst for driving new efficiencies in your HR department. You can get your own copy here.
November was also a busy month for us as we returned to Manchester to attend the CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition, whilst the 29th November saw the return of our ever-popular Annual User Group meeting in London.
The day provided customers of Cezanne HR an exclusive look at future developments, updates on the platform, 1-1 consultancy sessions with product experts, and the chance to network with other HR professionals. For a full rundown of the day, just follow this link.
To close the year, December saw the company come together once again for its Christmas party. This year, our end of year celebration took place on the Thames as we sailed the capital’s waters and celebrated our successes into the night.
So, that’s a wrap for this year. From all of us at Cezanne HR, have a wonderful Christmas, and a peaceful and prosperous new year.
